Certified Shari’a Monitor and Auditor Program:

It is one of the fellowship programs offered by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions. It was launched in 2006 and the program content is currently being developed.

The Certified Shari’a Supervisor and Auditor Program is being developed to provide candidates with the required technical understanding and professional skills in Shari’a compliance and auditing for Islamic banks and financial institutions.

The program generally focuses on practical knowledge, applications and practices to provide an educational experience of high quality.

Description

Program Goals:

The program aims to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge in
1. Sharia requirements for various contracts, products and services used in Islamic finance
2. The roles and functions of the various compliance and Sharia review processes in financial institutions;
3. Cooperation between the Sharia Supervisory Board of the Islamic Financial Institution and the internal audit and compliance departments with the provisions of Islamic Sharia
4. A mechanism for ensuring compliance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia in accordance with the decisions and fatwas issued by the Sharia Supervisory Board
5. Technical review of banking and financial operations to determine compliance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia. And
6. Laying the foundations for gaining stakeholders’ confidence in the financial institution’s commitment to the provisions of Islamic Sharia.
